Each year, the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum honors one individual—a distinguished leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the field of hunting and wildlife conservation. This annual award specifically identifies and recognizes a leader who has made a highly significant impact on fostering, promoting and/or defending the traditions of hunting and wildlife conservation. These actions further NRA’s mission “to promote hunter safety, and to promote and defend hunting as a shooting sport and as a viable and necessary method of fostering the propagation, growth and conservation, and wise use of our renewable resources.”
This is the opportunity for any open NRA member in good standing to nominate an individual for the NRA Distinguished Hunters Leadership Award. To be considered, a candidate must have achieved a distinguished position of national or international leadership in one or more of the following categories: communications, education, hunter development, legal/litigation/judiciary, NRA coordination, philanthropy, political advocacy, research, wildlife conservation or youth development. Additional categories may be considered. Applications are due by Jan. 31, 2018.
