802, 600 Reasons to Attend the 2017 SCI Show

Get set for jam-packed aisles as the SCI welcomes American hunters on the opening day of the 45th Annual SCI Hunters’ Convention at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Feb. 1-4. If you’re not already here, get moving because there are at least 802,566 reasons to attend—and I’m still counting!

Here's the rundown:

• 1,200 exhibitors representing 33 nations and 6 continents
• 34 hunting-related product categories
• 67 gunmakers
• 110 taxidermist displays
• 1,150 live and silent auction items
• And in case you missed yesterday’s post, while we’re at it, throw in 800,000-plus square feet of exhibit hall space!

So far, we're at 802,600 "by the numbers" reasons to attend the SCI show. But walk the show floor for a mere five minutes and you’ll quickly be chalking up even more reasons to attend.

Here are two more fast facts:

• A whopping $10 million in hunting and fishing trips, art, firearms, jewelry and outdoor gear are all up for grabs at the SCI show’s live and silent auctions.
• In terms of fundraising, SCI will raise 70 percent of the entire amount it raises for the year at this show.

Of course, we hunters don’t really need thousands of reasons to attend this big show. We’re hooked just by the words “hunters’ convention!”
