The NRA-backed momentum in the national effort to recruit, retain and reactivate (R3) American hunters continues to build, with the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports’ (Council) announcement of the 2024 National Symposium, May 29-June 1, at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile, Ala.
As Executive Director Dr. Steven Leath emphasized, “The National R3 Symposium holds a significant position among R3 events in the nation. It serves as a tangible expression of our steadfast commitment to R3 professionals as well as to our valued stakeholders in the shooting sports and the hunting and fishing professions.”
The R3 Symposium brings concerned professionals from agencies, non-governmental organizations and industries from across the nation together to examine the continuing efforts and needs for building hunter numbers as hunters continue to fund a major portion of wildlife conservation. The symposium will include “comprehensive discussions focused on securing the future of hunting, target shooting, angling, boating and conservation.”
The Council, in collaboration with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF), will provide R3 “foundational training” during the symposium. Both new and experienced practitioners are encouraged to attend. This session aims to establish a solid foundation, impart an understanding of R3 principles and strategies, and inspire success in implementing R3 programs. Participation in the training segment is included in the symposium registration fee.
As a vital component, the event provides professionals with opportunities to share and discuss their experiences regarding top projects, success stories and lessons learned in their ongoing respective R3 programs.
Symposium registration is priced at $475 and includes access to all sessions, networking socials and event-provided meals. To register, click here. A block of rooms has been set aside at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel. For more information on lodging, click here.
